A Lovely Video

I don't know why, but I watched this video years ago and thought it was lovely.
The images are a slide show of artwork, put to music, with titles, that was created to promote the artwork on the website www.duirwaigh.com.
I was trying to think of a lovely, visual escape I could post on my blog today and thought of this.

I apologize up front to the people at duirwaigh that I have linked this directly to their video. I found it on YouTube and liked it, but the video was just so blurry it didn't do the artwork justice, so I went to the source.

I was lucky enough to see this before they put the frame around it (I believe, if memory serves and I could take in the artwork better.) Just click the picture below (I didn't have any similar artwork to the video to use, but this looked 'doorway' enough to me to suffice) If you are in need of a little inspiration or just a moment of escape -- enjoy...

Here is the News Blurb from the SWAT team incident.

I'll admit, I may not have the name correct, or maybe they were calling to the woman, who is unnamed in this article, but I have the photographic proof that this went on HOURS after 12:30am on Monday.

S.W.A.T. Team on the 4th Of July

So this morning started early, before dawn with the sound of large machinery (vehicles), the clanking of chains and ratcheting sounds. As the sun rose and there was more light, Men in what looked like fatigues were walking around. It looked like a military invasion and was a bit blood chilling. Especially on the 4th of July.
However, I kept in perspective, who would ever want to invade MY neighborhood?

Anyway, the men in fatigues looked as though they were carrying guns. Eventually, the rising sun gave enough light to see S.W.A.T. was written on the van parked in my neighbors driveway.

The men in fatigues were traveling away from the house down a street that runs between the house and the neighbor's on the other side.

Eventually the sound of a loud speaker could be heard telling "Christopher" to come out of the house repeatedly. Then quiet. Later they could be heard telling everyone to come out of the house and now were appealing to someone named "Chrystal"

Quiet again for a bit. After turning on the TV and channel surfing around the local news stations with no mention of the situation, I got a photo of the S.W.A.T. van through the window and emailed it to one of the local news stations.

I got back a quick thank you with a question as to who to credit the photo to and did I have more?

It was funny to see Marla Weech (local news anchor for years in this area) sitting on television looking like she was stuck with a pin repeating the information I emailed to the station almost word for word. (I knew this because I only mentioned MY location, when in fact, the stand off was one street over and they hadn't collected that information yet) She reported they would follow up with more soon.

I don't know if they did. Shortly after the quick report, I snapped more images of the men returning from the standoff and bringing back the small tank they took with them. It was over, whatever it was.

I watched the news for a bit longer to see if they added any more information but apparently the Jury beginning deliberating in the Casey Anthony Case and the Fourth Of July Fireworks weather watch was all FAR more important.

Since I was awakened early and have the day off, I decided to return to bed, so I don't know at this time if they followed up on the rest of the story.

Here are the photos:

Images Of the Venue

These are pictures that I took of the new venue with my phone before the contractors starting working on the building.

The piece of wood in this photo above is a 4 foot by 8 foot piece of plywood.

It may be hard to tell what you are looking at here, but the ceilings in this "box" are at least 8 to 10 feet high.

New Venue

I planned in March to open this venue with an event on my birthday, but sadly, the venue was not ready and I've been waiting patiently for the contractors to finish.

New Venue

I'm poking around the edges of putting an event together for next month. There is this incredible venue available, but not without some commitment. I will also have some time this weekend to create some new paintings. I'm looking forward to that and will have images as soon as they are available.

Optimal Trajectory

I've been focusing lately on 'Optimal Trajectory'. The spiritual definition of it is the theory that everyone is born with a purpose, a path in life. The closer you are to your 'optimal' path, the easier things flow in your life to deliver you to your destiny. The further you get from your path, the harder things become for you (as though trying to tell you, you are going the wrong way)

I've been climbing out of a tremendous hole that I've dug for myself and this has left me with limited finances. I was excited though, because after this week, I will have a bit of money to spend. But my impulse THIS week was to go ahead and spend a few dollars on internet advertising for my artfire page.

I was disappointed, knowing that I couldn't do that this week and would have to wait until next week.

Then the mail came, with an advertisement from Google. A card was included good for a $100 credit to try AdSense/AdWords advertising. I probably would not have received the advertisement if I had not signed up for AdSense some time ago on another blog that I haven't even been to for months. (It was set up to advertise an upcoming event)

I'm also hoping the credit isn't BS, but so far it seems like it will fill the bill. The claim is that you can use the credit to start a campaign, and when it's done, you don't have to continue if you don't want. It reduces in value next month and expires in March. I'm hoping the point is to get you to try the advertising and when you actually see results, it will encourage you to continue.

I've never received an offer like this and I think it is significant that it is coming at this particular time, so, I guess I will get to launch a campaign this weekend.

I'm very excited--I will get to launch this week after all and it makes me feel encouraged that I'm on the right path.

Staying Warm at Christmas

Here is an inset of a FIRE painting. Something to keep warm by. It's going to be 27 degrees here in Florida. I know it may be colder elsewhere, but I didn't sign up for this!
